We pray for the family and friends of Rev. Nelson Sulouff, a member of Resurrection, retired ELCA pastor, and military chaplain who passed away on February 14, 2024.
We pray for the family and friends of Norma Jean MacAdam, who passed away on Palm Sunday, March 25,2024, at the age of 94. She is the wife of Rev. Thomas L. MacAdam, founder of Saved By Grace Lutheran Church in Pahrump.
Her son, Kevin MacAdam, lets us know that her memorial service will be held at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church on May 7th at 11:00 a.m. and her internment at the veterans cemetery next to Rev. MacAdam that same day at 2:00 p.m. in Boulder. Anyone that would like to attend either service is welcome.
The 2024 Synod Assembly nominating committee is calling for nominations for synod council members, committee positions, and Churchwide Assembly voting members. Participants will explore the leader-full community that is Women of the ELCA.

Linda Post Bushkofsky, executive director of Women of the ELCA, announces her retirement effective June 30, 2024, after 22 years of transformative leadership. During her tenure, she spearheaded major initiatives such as the Katie’s Fund capital campaign and maintained organizational stability through the pandemic, leaving a lasting legacy of growth and service within the church. We acknowledge and honor the original inhabitants of the various regions of our synod. The Grand Canyon Synod is spread across lands in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, which are currently home to over two dozen tribal nations.
We acknowledge and honor these communities, their elders both past and present, as well as future generations. We give thanks to our Indigenous siblings who have cared and continue to care for this place — this land — and call it their home.
