Celebrate the 2025 Diakonia Graduates with Us in Tucson or Online

Join the Grand Canyon Synod community in celebrating the 2025 Growing in Faith/Diakonia graduates (view grads in this PDF) at a special worship service on Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 AM MST, held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (1200 N. Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ). The service will be followed by a light luncheon and a brief message from Bishop Deborah Hutterer.

This joyful event marks a milestone for students who have completed one or both years of the Diakonia program, a transformative experience of faith formation and lay theological education. Many graduates speak of how Diakonia deepened their understanding of Scripture, Lutheran identity, and how they live out God’s call in the world. From seasoned leaders to new learners, each has been equipped for deeper discipleship and service.

We give thanks for their stories—of rekindled faith, new purpose, and courageous curiosity—and for the instructors, pastors, and congregations who supported them along the way.
