Youth from across the Grand Canyon Synod and neighboring communities will gather this summer for Lutheran Campformation 2026, taking place June 29–July 3, 2026 at Camp Pinerock in Prescott, Arizona. The week-long outdoor ministry experience is designed for youth entering grades 6–10, offering a dynamic blend of faith formation, worship, friendship, and outdoor adventure. For more than 60 years, Campformation has helped young people grow in faith while building lasting relationships with peers and mentors. Many who once attended as campers have returned as counselors, youth ministers, adult leaders, and pastors, continuing the tradition of passing on faith to the next generation.

Each year, congregations from across Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, and southern Utah come together for this shared ministry. The energy of the week comes from the enthusiasm of campers, counselors, and adult leaders who gather to learn, worship, and explore what it means to follow Christ together.

Campformation is led by a dedicated team of pastors, youth ministers, and adult leaders who work year-round to plan a meaningful and safe experience. Their shared passion for young people, outdoor ministry, and Lutheran faith formation shapes a week designed to help youth explore their place in God’s story.

The event will once again take place at Camp Pinerock in Prescott, a scenic mountain setting that offers a wide range of outdoor activities. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in high- and low-ropes courses, zip lining, swimming, archery, hiking, and team-building activities, alongside daily worship, small group discussions, and faith-centered programming.

Each year Campformation centers the week around a theme designed to connect with the real experiences of youth and adult leaders, helping participants reflect on how faith shapes their lives and relationships.

The Campformation leadership team invites congregations across the synod to share this opportunity with their youth and consider participating in this long-standing tradition of outdoor faith formation.
