Confronting Christian Nationalism: Faith-Rooted Organizing for Clergy

Clergy across traditions are being invited into a timely and necessary conversation about faithful leadership in a moment of growing pressure and polarization.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, clergy are invited to participate in Confronting Christian Nationalism: Faith-Rooted Organizing for Clergy, an online gathering hosted by BJC as part of its Clergy Quarterly Touchpoint series. This facilitated Zoom gathering will take place from 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Mountain Time / 9:30–11:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

Christian nationalism continues to threaten religious freedom, democratic norms, and the dignity of vulnerable communities. For pastors and faith leaders, these pressures are not abstract—they are showing up in congregations, councils, and community conversations. This gathering recognizes that clergy carry a unique and sacred responsibility in this moment and that this work is not meant to be carried alone.

This Clergy Quarterly Touchpoint is designed as a space for connection, shared learning, and concrete action, rooted in faith and honest about the risks and limits clergy face. Participants will hear from clergy who have already taken meaningful steps to help their congregations resist Christian nationalism and strengthen pluralism and democracy.
