Classic Notes: ASU Graduate Students in Concert – Aug. 24 at Mount of Olives
On Sunday, August 24 at 3:00 PM, Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Phoenix will host Classic Notes, featuring talented ASU graduate students performing a repertoire of short pieces for piano and voice. This special afternoon of music will be followed by a light dessert reception.
A freewill offering will be received to support the Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission (NELM), which provides spiritual care, education, and community support to the Navajo Nation. Your generosity will help sustain this vital ministry.
Music has long been part of how Lutherans live out the call of Matthew 25:35: “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink.” Through this series, we offer not only beautiful performances but also tangible care for neighbors in need.
Looking ahead, the series continues on Sunday, September 14 at 5:30 PM with Jazz Vespers featuring Beth Lederman and Alice Tatum. That concert will support Mount of Olives’ Food Pantry ministry, which feeds more than 150 families weekly. Our last jazz event drew 50 joyful attendees and raised over $750 for this cause.
