Many congregations across our synod are feeling the weight of this season. Rising costs, fewer rostered leaders, and ongoing building and maintenance needs can make it harder to focus on what draws us together in the first place—sharing the good news of God in Jesus Christ.
Yet the gospel continually calls us to imagine new possibilities. What might it look like to be church together in different ways? How might congregations collaborate, share leadership, and support one another so that ministry not only continues, but flourishes?
The Grand Canyon Synod invites rostered ministers and lay leaders into a synod-wide conversation focused on partnership, creativity, and faithful imagination. Rather than beginning with answers, we will begin with listening—learning from leaders who are already experimenting with new ways of connecting and cooperating across congregations, and exploring resources that can guide us into the future God is opening before us.
Join us for a Zoom gathering on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 6:00 pm (MST), 5:00 pm PST.
This online conversation is an opportunity to reflect together, ask honest questions, and discern what the Holy Spirit may be stirring among us in this moment.
The gathering will be led by Rev. David Pavesic, Director for Evangelical Mission, and is open to all who care about the future of ministry in the Grand Canyon Synod.
Registration is required.
Please register in advance using the Zoom link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the meeting.
