LEAN and Bishop Hutterer attend Nevada legislature

Representatives from Lutheran Engagement and Advocacy in Nevada (LEAN) gathered in Carson City, along with Bishop Hutterer, who delivered the invocation in both the Senate and the Assembly. Nevada's legislature meets in odd-numbered years for 120 consecutive days beginning the first Monday in February. Find photos and video in this post.

[re]imagine Lent: 4/5/2023

Had it been up to me, Holy Week would have already ended – with Palm Sunday – the day we celebrated Jesus’ triumph over sin, death, and the devil.

And yet, here we are, edging closer and closer not to a triumphant victory over earthly powers, but to a violent execution and act so selfless and loving that not even the powers of hell could stand against it.

We want to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone who took the time to complete and submit their annual reports to Bishop Hutterer this year. As of this writing, the Bishop has responded to all 140 reports, which is by far the most reports we have ever received.

Your reports are vital in helping the Office of the Bishop understand the current state of our ministry and the ways in which we can best serve our rostered ministers and congregations and communities.

Under the theme Be Bold in Your Baptism, we gather at Resurrection Lutheran Churchin Oro Valley, Friday and Saturday, June 9 – 10, 2023, for our annual synod assembly.

Registration is now open. Voting members can access $150 early bird registration through 4/17/2023. Visitors can register for $100, with ministry partner tables available for $100 as well.
