Christian Nationalism Symposium Postponed; Spring Plans Underway

The Grand Canyon Growing in Faith Program has postponed its Christian Nationalism Symposium, originally scheduled for November 14, 2026, at American Lutheran Church in Sun City and online. The event will not take place on that date.

Growing in Faith Steering Committee Chair Tina Gilson shared that organizers made the difficult decision because of low enrollment. Over the coming weeks, the committee will work to revamp the event and reschedule it for spring 2027. A new date and updated event details have not yet been announced.

The symposium, titled “A Different Way: Jesus and the Call Beyond Christian Nationalism — Hope, Courage and Community for Such a Time as This,” was designed to explore Christian faith, citizenship, and our ultimate allegiance to Christ. These questions remain relevant to our shared Lutheran calling to love and serve our neighbors.
