Ongoing Advocacy and Community Work

AFN continues to engage in critical justice issues across the state, including:

  • Advocacy for humane treatment of ICE detainees with serious medical conditions.

  • The “Choose Love, Not ICE” campaign calling for compassionate immigration policies.

  • Recruitment for the 2026 Heat Relief Program, providing essential support during Arizona’s extreme summer temperatures (positions available May–September across Maricopa County).

Why This Matters

AFN’s work reflects a shared commitment across faith traditions to justice, compassion, and the common good. For Lutherans in the Grand Canyon Synod, this interfaith collaboration is a vital extension of our call to love our neighbor and engage faithfully in the public sphere.
