Assembly Art Now Available: Explore the Mosaic-Inspired Images of Our Synod

Throughout the 2025 Synod Assembly, many of you asked about the distinctive artwork featured in our worship slides, banners, and promotional materials. Today, we’re excited to share all 50 images from that collection—designed to reflect the beauty, diversity, and sacred geography of the Grand Canyon Synod.

These images were created using Midjourney, an AI-powered art generation tool. Midjourney works by transforming text prompts into visual art using machine learning and image training data. We guided this process with carefully crafted prompts rooted in the aesthetics of hand-cut mosaic tilework, set in warm desert earth tones reminiscent of the canyons, cliffs, and sacred lands that define our synod.

The result: a series of 50 unique images, each evoking a sense of place and purpose. They were used to frame our Assembly’s worship, welcome materials, and online communications—but their value extends beyond that gathering. We now make these images available to all congregations, ministries, and individuals throughout the synod for inspiration, worship, projection, or print use.

We hope these visuals can enrich your own worship environments and storytelling. They remind us that even in this digital age, beauty can emerge from new tools when guided by faithful hands and theological imagination.
