We Are Worthy: A Day of Renewal for Grand Canyon Women

Join women from across the Grand Canyon Synod for “We Are Worthy,” a retreat on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Love of Christ Lutheran’s Compassion Center, 1525 N. Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85205. All women are welcome—bring a friend, whether or not she is Lutheran. View a PDF flyer here.

Register through Grand Canyon Women’s events page. Complimentary registration is available to all rostered women in the Grand Canyon Synod, and complimentary scholarships are available to lay women of color.

Grounded in 1 John 3:1–2, the retreat invites participants to celebrate their identity as beloved children of God. Our worth rests in God’s gracious love, freeing us to build meaningful relationships and serve our neighbors. Grand Canyon Women and its partner, Women of the ELCA, invite women into this beloved community of belonging, connection, and service.

The day includes:

  • Music with Christina Hall

  • Bible study with the Rev. Dr. Adele Resmer

  • “Beloved, you belong,” a keynote address by Dr. Jennifer Hockenbery, executive director of Women of the ELCA

  • “Lavished in Love,” a hands-on painting activity

  • Closing worship with music and Communion

Participants are invited to bring an in-kind offering of towel sets for Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest’s Christmas gifting. Each set should include two towels and two hand towels in colors other than white.

Make time for connection, sisterhood, and spiritual renewal alongside women from Arizona, southern Nevada, and St. George, Utah. Register and invite a friend.
