Big Month for Lutheran Men in Mission: Ordination, Bold Gathering, and What’s Next

It’s been a month of milestones and movement for Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM), and we invite you to read the Spring 2025 edition of their Ambassador-Gram—a quick and engaging update on what’s happening across this vibrant ministry dedicated to building men for Christ.

First, we give thanks and celebrate with Deacon Kevin Burke, who was ordained on May 4, 2025! Kevin serves as LMM’s Discipleship Consultant and continues to be a faithful leader in helping men grow in their walk with Christ.

Second, the LMM website is getting a major refresh this month as part of the final phase of their Reach Beyond strategic plan. The redesigned site will launch in just a few weeks and aims to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for men’s groups and individuals looking to engage more deeply.

Third, LMM’s Spring 2025 NewsletterFoundations—is being released this week. In it, you’ll find reflections, updates, and a standing invitation from LMM President Vic Williams, who writes:

“We’re all familiar with Christ’s story. Now let’s hear yours!”

LMM is calling for short faith reflections from men across the church—stories of faith, work, family, and everyday discipleship. Email vic.williams@lutheranmeninmission.org to contribute to future issues.

Fourth, the Spring 2025 Bold Gathering took place on May 3, featuring a powerful line-up of speakers and messages. If you missed it, recordings will be available soon on the Bold Gathering site. This is a great resource for individual reflection or men’s group study.

Other key dates and opportunities:

  • LMM Annual Meeting (Virtual): June 10 at 7:00 PM (Central). Elections and ministry reports. Zoom link available on the LMM website starting May 21.

  • Upcoming One Year to Live Retreats: Six retreats are scheduled between May and November 2025. These acclaimed weekends offer deep reflection, faith-building, and fellowship.

  • Project Twelve offers ongoing Bible studies (Thursdays @ 7 PM CT) and book discussions (Tuesdays @ 7 PM CT)—all online and open to all.

If your congregation has a men’s group or story to share, or if you’re looking for resources to get started, email david.newman@lutheranmeninmission.org. You can also explore resources and upcoming events at lutheranmeninmission.org.
