Blessed Tomorrow: Climate Ambassador Training, Season of Creation Resources and More

Blessed Tomorrow’s September newsletter offers several opportunities for congregations and faith leaders to connect care for creation with faithful action, including a free live Climate Ambassador Training on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time.

The three-hour online training will equip participants with knowledge, practical experience and resources for talking about and taking action on climate change at home, in congregations and communities, and with policymakers. Participants can register through the newsletter.

The September edition also highlights ways faith communities are putting climate commitments into practice. Blessed Tomorrow Climate Ambassadors are advocating for responses to extreme heat, while the One Home One Futureprogram continues to provide congregations with resources, events and opportunities to explore creation care through a theological lens.

Other resources and stories include:

  • A feature on “Knowing Joy by Caring for the Earth,” highlighting faith leaders featured in the Caring for the Earth: Stories from Faith Communities film series.

  • Election Earth’s 10-Week Activation Challenge, offering one climate-related civic action each week through Election Day.

  • A new Organizations and Climate Action report from ecoAmerica and the American Psychological Association, with practical strategies for organizations seeking to advance climate action.

  • Stories from the 2026 American Climate Leadership Awards, featuring approaches communities are already putting into practice.

  • News about the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly’s decision to divest from fossil fuel companies by 2030.

Rev. Carol Devine is also seeking feedback from people who have used Blessed Tomorrow’s Moving Forward Guide as work begins on an updated resource for 2027.

For Lutherans, care for creation is rooted in our understanding that the earth and all that is in it belong to God. The Season of Creation offers a timely opportunity to consider how that calling takes shape in our congregations, communities and public life.
