Blue Christmas Service Offers Comfort and Hope in Oro Valley
Resurrection Lutheran Church in Oro Valley invites the community to a Blue Christmas worship service on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Held in the church's Oro Valley sanctuary, this quiet, meditative service offers space for grief, loneliness, remembrance, and reflection during a season often associated with celebration and joy.
For many, Christmas brings complicated emotions. The absence of loved ones, difficult circumstances, or feelings of uncertainty can make the season especially challenging. Blue Christmas acknowledges these experiences without judgment, offering a welcoming place to simply be.
The service will include opportunities to remember those who are no longer present and to find comfort in the promise of Emmanuel—God with us.
As Resurrection Lutheran reminds us, Christ meets us in joy and pain, certainty and doubt. Through prayer and reflective worship, participants are invited to experience God's presence and the hope of Christmas, wherever they find themselves.
