Artificial intelligence is shaping our world at an extraordinary pace. How will the Church respond faithfully, with wisdom and witness? From September 2–5, 2025, leaders from across four mainline Protestant denominations will gather in Minneapolis for Faithful Futures: Guiding AI with Wisdom and Witness, a groundbreaking conference that explores the theological, ethical, and practical implications of AI.

While the in-person gathering at Westminster Presbyterian Church is limited to invited participants, all are warmly invited to register for the robust online experience. Virtual participants will have access to livestreamed keynote addresses, scenario-based planning, cohort reflections, and interactive opportunities to contribute to shaping the Church’s response to AI. Translation into dozens of languages will be provided through Wordly.ai, making this a truly global conversation.

The conference is structured around Richard Osmer’s practical theology framework, which asks:

  • What is going on?

  • Why is it happening?

  • What ought to be happening?

  • How might we respond?

Each day is organized around one of these guiding questions, leading participants from observation and interpretation to visioning and faithful action.

A highlight of the online experience will be an interactive scenario-planning session led by Jane McGonigal, supported by an AI-powered collaboration tool designed to capture and synthesize group insights. Online attendees will also be invited into digital cohort spaces for reflection, conversation, and access to curated resources.

This conference offers more than information—it is designed to produce practical tools, prototypes, and theological reflections that participants can carry back to their communities, equipping congregations for wise and faithful engagement with emerging technologies.
