ELCA Coaching Courageous Leadership: Embody The Word

ELCA Coaching’s ongoing series mixes things up a bit on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 11am MST/PDT, 12PM MDT. They will focus on the theme for Churchwide Assembly (August 8-12): Embody the Word. This also happens to be one of the centering Scriptures for ELCA's Coaching Ministry from Luke 24, the road to Emmaus and how Jesus embodies a coaching posture.

Dear Courageous Leaders,

We are mixing things up for the rest of August and experimenting with our content and format. We will gather together online, begin as we usually do with an introduction and time of centering, then we will briefly learn (or be reminded of) the basics of one of a number of coaching skills. This time will be followed by small groups in breakout rooms to practice this skill with each other on real and relevant topics that you bring with you that day so that you may leave our time together feeling empowered, valued, and prepared for your next most faithful step.

On Wednesday, August 10, we will focus on the theme for Churchwide Assembly (August 8-12): Embody the Word. This also happens to be one of the centering Scriptures for ELCA's Coaching Ministry from Luke 24, the road to Emmaus and how Jesus embodies a coaching posture.

A special thing that will be happening next week: At our August 3 gathering, faith leaders across the church proposed recording a blessing that could be shared with Churchwide Assembly participants. Join us as we pray for God's abundant love to be within, through, and around those who gather on behalf of our church and the important work they will tend in that space.
