Faith After Faith: A New Space for Reconstructing Christian Faith
A new podcast and YouTube channel from a Grand Canyon Synod-supported ministry is creating space for people asking a difficult and deeply personal question: What comes after deconstructing your faith?
Faith After Faith, hosted by the Rev. Katie Langston of New Promise Lutheran Church in St. George, Utah, explores “the terrain between losing your faith and finding it again.” The podcast is an initiative of Promise Studio, a ministry outreach at New Promise supported by the Grand Canyon Synod that seeks to connect with former Latter-day Saints, people leaving high-demand religious traditions, spiritual deconstructors, and others reconsidering what Christian faith might mean for them.
“There’s a lot more deconstruction than reconstruction content out there,” Langston says. Faith After Faith seeks to help fill that gap.
Through honest conversations, theological reflection, and storytelling, the podcast creates room for deconstructors, reconstructors, doubters, and spiritual seekers to explore Christian faith in ways that are intellectually curious, grounded in Scripture, and centered in grace.
That emphasis is deeply resonant with our Lutheran understanding of faith. Questions and doubts need not be obstacles to grace. We trust a God who meets people where they are—not because they have successfully resolved every question or assembled the right set of beliefs, but because God’s grace comes to us as gift.
For those healing from harmful religious experiences, rebuilding faith after doubt, or simply wondering whether there might be a different way to encounter Christianity, Faith After Faith offers conversation without pressure or pretense.
Langston, Pastor of Mission and Outreach at New Promise, is an author, pastor, and evangelist whose own journey has included significant questions about faith and religious identity. She describes herself simply as “a doubter by nature and believer by grace.”
