Faithful Climate Action: Highlights from the June Blessed Tomorrow Newsletter

The June newsletter from Blessed Tomorrow is packed with new resources, stories, and opportunities to help congregations deepen their commitment to caring for God’s creation. From a new multi-faith film series and climate leadership opportunities to advocacy actions and practical tools for families, this month’s edition offers meaningful ways for people of faith to engage climate concerns through hope-filled action.

Highlights include the launch of Tend and Keep: People of Faith Caring for the Earth, a new introductory film featuring more than 30 Christian, Muslim, Indigenous, Baha’i, and Jewish faith leaders from 14 states sharing how faith communities are responding with compassion and courage. Readers can watch the introductory film and sign up for the full series.

The newsletter also celebrates climate ministry happening on the ground through Blessed Tomorrow Ambassadors, including native gardens, pollinator projects, and climate-smart food gardens in congregations and communities across the country. For congregations seeking deeper engagement, Blessed Tomorrow continues to invite participants into its Climate Ambassador Training and the growing One Home One Future coalition, now representing 50 denominations and faith organizations.

Several timely resources may be especially relevant for congregational leaders and families. The newsletter highlights a guide to supporting children’s mental health and resilience in a changing climate, a new research report on how congregations can uniquely serve their communities in a climate-changed world, and a feature story exploring faithful pathways away from fossil fuels.

For those called to advocacy, readers are invited to join efforts to protect the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument alongside Creation Justice Ministries, while also exploring reflections from ecoAmerica on moral courage, democracy, and climate justice.

As Lutherans, we affirm that care for creation is an expression of love for neighbor and stewardship of God’s good earth. Whether through worship, education, local projects, or public witness, the June Blessed Tomorrow newsletter offers practical next steps for congregations and individuals seeking to live faithfully in a changing world.
