For Grand Canyon Synod congregations and leaders, several opportunities are worth exploring now—including a supervision course beginning August 18, a fall cohort for lay ministry, resources for the Narrative Lectionary’s Year of Matthew, and a new season of The Bible in a Year podcast.
Courses for Faith and Daily Life
Two featured on-demand courses connect Christian faith with questions leaders and congregations encounter every day.
Following Jesus to Purpose and Meaning examines the tension between conventional measures of success and the way of Jesus, offering practical tools for connecting ministry, daily life, and Christian purpose.
Work, Money, and the Ten Commandments explores vocation, Sabbath, economic life, and justice through the commandments, helping participants consider how faith shapes decisions about work and money.
Faith+Lead Academy also offers group registration, allowing congregations, Bible studies, and organizations to purchase courses for larger groups. Courses include leader guides to support conversation and reflection.
Opportunities for Leaders
The roundup highlights three deeper pathways for formation:
New Christian Communities Leadership Incubator: A year-long experience for people discerning or developing new Christian communities, combining online gatherings, courses, workshops, coaching, ministry experiments, and peer learning.
Stepping Up to Supervision: Susan Beaumont’s training connects covenantal care with practical approaches to supervision and organizational leadership. The learning community begins August 18, so registration is time-sensitive.
School for Lay Ministry: Registration is open for the fall cohort, offering lay leaders an opportunity to listen for the Holy Spirit, deepen their sense of calling, develop leadership skills, and learn alongside others serving in ministry.
