From Desert Land to Living Ministry: Living Water Lutheran Church

As we prepare for the 2026 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly (June 11–13), we invite you to watch a video report from Living Water Lutheran Church in Scottsdale.

🎥 Watch the video.

The story begins about 25 years ago, when the synod purchased open desert land in North Scottsdale. Living Water Lutheran Church officially opened in 2003 on Palm Sunday, growing from that vision into a vibrant congregation rooted in its community.

Today, the congregation is approaching a significant milestone—paying off its mortgage—with a clear purpose: to “open the doors, do more,” and expand its ministry into the future.

Take a few minutes to watch their story and reflect on how God continues to bring new life and possibility through faithful communities across our synod.
