Last Call for Young Artists—Submit by May 9 to Be Featured at Assembly

There’s still time for young artists to help shape the 2025 Synod Assembly—but submissions must be received by Friday, May 9!

Children and youth from across the Grand Canyon Synod are invited to create and submit artwork inspired by our Assembly theme, “Build Up the Body,” from Ephesians 4:12-13. Their drawings, paintings, and digital artwork will reflect how they see Jesus, Church, and themselves as part of the Body of Christ.

“…to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”

All submitted artwork will be displayed at the Assembly, featured in an online gallery, and considered for printing as part of a special postcard collection. Plus, every participant will be entered into a drawing for a gift card to purchase art supplies.

✍️ Submission Details

  • Who can submit? Any child or youth connected to a congregation in the Grand Canyon Synod.

  • How to submit? Upload artwork via our online form at gcsynod.org/2025/assembly/art.

  • Deadline: Friday, May 9, 2025 — no late entries will be accepted.

🌟 Where Will the Artwork Be Shared?

  • On-site: Every submission will be displayed at the 2025 Synod Assembly.

  • Online: We’ll showcase an online gallery on the synod website.

  • In Print: 25 selected pieces will be turned into beautiful printed postcards.

💡 Prompts to Spark Creativity

  • What does it mean to be part of Jesus’ body?

  • What makes your church feel like home?

  • How do we help each other grow in faith?

  • Where do you see Jesus in daily life?

🙌 Pastors and Teachers—Encourage Participation

Please share this opportunity with families, Sunday School classes, and Lutheran schools in your community. This is a chance for children to witness to their faith in joyful, visual ways that help build up our synod’s shared story.

Thank you for helping lift up the voices of our youngest members!
