In Memoriam: Remembering Jim Krueger

We mourn the death of James (Jim) William Krueger Jr., beloved husband of Laura Krueger, current president of the Grand Canyon Women of the ELCA. Jim died on August 19, 2025 in Mount Holly, North Carolina, at the age of 73.

Jim was a lifelong Lutheran, active in congregational life and community service. During his years in Arizona, he served at Alleluia Lutheran Church in Phoenix and on the board of the West Valley Lutheran Thrift Shop, where he also served as president. His volunteerism extended to projects like the Alleluia Better Chance Diaper Closet and Habitat for Humanity builds around the world.

Professionally, Jim worked as an engineer with General Electric and later with Lockheed Martin in Goodyear, AZ, where he retired in 2012. His career included international projects and even a U.S. patent for radar technology. Beyond his professional and volunteer accomplishments, Jim was remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose faith shaped his daily life.

Jim is survived by his wife Laura, three sons, and three grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at Assurance Methodist Church in Huntersville, North Carolina on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. EDT, with livestreaming available here.
