Bring a nonperishable food item to support the Pitchfork Pantry
Grace Lutheran Church in Phoenix invites you to an evening of jazz, food, and fellowship in support of the Pitchfork Pantry at Arizona State University’s Downtown Campus. This free community event, hosted by the Connections ministry, will take place on Tuesday, April 28 at 6:00 PM.
The Pitchfork Pantry is a student-led organization addressing food and nutrition insecurity among ASU students—an urgent need, as one in four students faces uncertainty about their next meal. These students are balancing school, work, and life responsibilities while striving toward a better future. Through this partnership, Grace Lutheran Church and its ministry partners help ensure that students have reliable access to food and support.
Connections, a Fresh Expression ministry, collaborates with the Pantry and the ASU Downtown Council of Religious Advisors (CORA) to create a welcoming space where students and their families can receive assistance with dignity—through a shopping-style experience that respects their agency and humanity.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to help stock the pantry shelves, particularly for students remaining on campus over the summer months.
This event is more than a gathering—it is a lived expression of Lutheran faith. As we are reminded, service to our neighbor is not about helping “the other,” but caring for those within our shared community. In serving our neighbors, we embody friendship, compassion, and the common good.
Join us for an evening where music and ministry meet—supporting students, strengthening community, and putting faith into action.
