LEAN Wants Your Input: Help Shape Nevada’s 2026 Hunger & Advocacy Priorities

Lutheran Engagement and Advocacy in Nevada (LEAN) is planning for 2026—and your congregation’s voice is essential. Pastor Paul Larson, Advocacy Director for LEAN, is inviting congregations across Nevada and our wider synod to complete two short surveys that will directly guide LEAN’s priorities in the coming year.

These surveys focus on two areas central to our shared Lutheran calling: hunger ministry and public advocacy.

1. Congregational Engagement with ELCA World Hunger

LEAN is gathering information about how congregations currently support ELCA World Hunger—through financial gifts, educational resources, Good Gifts, food collections, and local service ministries. Take the survey here.

2. Advocacy Priorities in Nevada

LEAN also wants to know which advocacy issues matter most to your congregation and community—including affordable housing, food insecurity, voter engagement, and more. Your input will directly inform LEAN’s 2026 advocacy agenda and strengthen our shared Lutheran voice for justice. Take the survey here.

As Lutherans, we believe that God is at work in the world through our collective action, especially when we show up for our neighbors who face hunger, poverty, and systemic barriers. Your responses will help LEAN better equip congregations, highlight stories of impact, and deepen partnerships throughout Nevada.

Pastor Paul also welcomes individual or congregational conversations.
