ove of Christ Lutheran Church in East Mesa is seeking a part-time Children and Youth Director to help nurture faith formation among children and youth. This position offers flexible hours (10–15 hours per week) and focuses on building relationships, leading programming, and supporting the spiritual growth of young people and their families.
This role centers on relational ministry and consistent presence, helping create a welcoming, Christ-centered environment where children and youth can grow in faith, fellowship, and community.
Key responsibilities include:
Sunday mornings (approx. 3 hours): Welcoming families, supporting children’s programming (including Godly Play), and facilitating youth fellowship time.
Wednesday evening programming (WOW): Leading Bible studies and faith-based activities, and supporting Confirmation ministry.
Monthly gatherings for grades 4–6: Planning engaging, faith-centered events that build relationships and deepen understanding of Scripture.
Ongoing planning and communication: Coordinating with pastoral leadership, engaging parents, organizing volunteers, and supporting ministry events.
The position also participates in broader faith formation milestones, including Confirmation, camp experiences, and key “faith stepping stone” moments such as First Communion and graduation.
Love of Christ Lutheran is seeking someone with a heart for children and youth, strong relational and organizational skills, and a passion for faith formation within the Lutheran tradition.
