LSS-SW Seeks Towels and Toys for Christmas Wishes 2026
Give by Dec. 14: Bring Christmas Joy to Arizona Neighbors
Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest invites congregations and individuals to help bring comfort, dignity, and Christmas joy to older adults, children, and families across Arizona.
Donations of new, unwrapped gifts must be received by 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2026. Earlier donations are appreciated. Visit the Christmas Wishes 2026 webpage to view requested items, shop online, make a financial gift, host a collection drive, or volunteer.
Bath towels for older adults
LSS-SW is collecting new towel sets for older adults served through its Aging & Disability Services. Many participants live on limited incomes and may go without everyday comforts.
The goal is to provide each older adult with:
Two bath towels
Two hand towels
Cheerful or dark colors are preferred. Please do not donate white towels.
A gift as practical as a fresh towel set can offer comfort and dignity while reminding an older neighbor that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
Toys and gifts for children
New toys can bring joy, excitement, and a sense of belonging to children and families participating in LSS-SW programs. Requested donations include:
Toys and games
Sporting equipment
Arts and crafts
Gift cards
All gifts should be new and unwrapped.
Four ways to help
Individuals and congregations can participate in several ways:
Shop online: Select requested items from the Amazon Wishlist and have them shipped directly to LSS-SW.
Give financially: Monetary donations help staff purchase needed items, fill gaps, and reach more neighbors.
Host a drive: Invite your congregation, workplace, or community group to collect towel sets and children’s gifts. Please notify LSS-SW in advance so staff can plan accordingly.
Volunteer: Help collect, organize, or distribute gifts during the Christmas season.
Find all donation and participation options at lss-sw.org/christmas.
Love made visible
Christmas celebrates God’s love taking flesh and dwelling among us. Through these gifts, congregations and individuals can make that love visible in simple, tangible ways—honoring the dignity of older adults and helping children experience the delight of the season.
For questions, drop-off information, or help organizing a drive, email volunteers@lss-sw.org. Remember to deliver unwrapped gifts by 1 p.m. Dec. 14.
