LSS-SW Welcomes Bobby Ghisolfo as New President and CEO
Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW) has announced that Bobby Ghisolfo has accepted the role of President and CEO and will officially begin serving on July 13. Ghisolfo will overlap with current President and CEO Connie Phillips through the remainder of July to support a thoughtful leadership transition. Phillips’ final day with LSS-SW will be July 31.
LSS-SW leaders shared their excitement in welcoming Ghisolfo, citing the experience, servant-hearted leadership, and mission-focused approach he brings to the organization’s work of serving individuals and families with dignity and compassion.
Ghisolfo comes to LSS-SW with more than 25 years of leadership experience across both nonprofit and financial services sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade in executive leadership with Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, focusing on workforce development, operations, and community impact.
In a message shared with the LSS-SW community, Ghisolfo emphasized the values that guide his leadership.
“Christ should remain at the center of all we do — in how we lead, how we serve others, and how we show compassion, dignity, and grace to the individuals and families entrusted to our care,” he said.
Ghisolfo shared that he was drawn to Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest because of the organization’s deep commitment to serving others with dignity, compassion, and purpose, as well as the strong sense of mission he experienced throughout the hiring process.
“I firmly believe strong organizations are built through collaboration, transparency, accountability, and servant leadership,” he wrote. “The greatest impact happens when people come together around a shared purpose and vision for the future.”
As he begins this new role, Ghisolfo expressed gratitude and excitement about partnering with staff, stakeholders, and communities across the region to continue strengthening the ministry and mission of LSS-SW.
At the same time, LSS-SW offered deep thanks to Connie Phillips for her 11 years of faithful leadership. Under her guidance, the organization strengthened its mission and expanded its impact on countless individuals and families throughout the communities it serves.
“We are happy to wish Connie well as she begins this new chapter and thankful for the strong foundation she leaves behind,” the organization shared.
A celebration event honoring the leadership transition is currently being planned, with additional details to be shared in the coming weeks.
As LSS-SW enters this new season, the organization reflected on Proverbs 16:3: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Supporters are invited to join in welcoming Bobby Ghisolfo and thanking Connie Phillips for her years of faithful service.
