LSSN Peanut Butter Wars continue

What are the Peanut Butter Wars?

In the past, Lutheran Social Services of Nevada held a special drive every summer for one of our most popular food pantry items: peanut butter. Local churches, businesses, and groups were able to register to compete to see who could donate the most peanut butter, and the winner of the "war" would become our reigning champion and be recognized by LSSN.

The War has been on pause since 2015, but this summer we are picking back up where we left off! Will your church or business be able to take the crown from our reigning champions, New Song Lutheran Church?

How to Win the War
There are many ways you can contribute to your group's total:

  1. Bring peanut butter to your church's regular donation box for LSSN. We will count it as part of your total when it is delivered to LSSN!

  2. Deliver your peanut butter directly to LSSN. This option is especially good for large donations but please contact Tristan first at tristan@lssnv.org to arrange a time.

  3. Give money to LSSN. Too busy to collect pounds and pounds of peanut butter? You can also give to LSSN online here or mail LSSN a check with "Peanut Butter" in the memo line. Each dollar donated will count for three pounds of peanut butter towards the congregation or group's total. Just make sure to e-mail Tristan attristan@lssnv.org to let him know your gift is for Peanut Butter Wars!

The War will run from Monday, July 1st at 8:00 a.m. to Wednesday, July 31stat 3:30 p.m. Start your collection now!

Who is Competing?
This year we have several churches competing for the crown, including:

  • Christ the Servant Lutheran Church
