Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) has released its Winter 2026 Ambassador-Gram, sharing both a moment of gratitude and a wide range of new opportunities for spiritual growth, leadership development, and community for men across the church.

At the heart of this update is the announcement that the Hal Derrick Memorial Initiative (HDMI) has reached its goal: $1 million in legacy pledges by the end of 2025. This initiative honors the life and leadership of Hal Derrick (1950–2023), former president of LMM, and fulfills his vision of creating a lasting fund to form bold, daring followers of Jesus Christ for years to come.

New Discipleship Course Launching in March

Beginning in early March, LMM will launch a 12-session online discipleship course, sourced by Luther Seminary’s Faith + Lead program. Designed for men of all ages, the course combines Bible-centered learning, workshops, and reflective practices aimed at deepening faith and equipping participants for everyday discipleship.

Participants who complete the course will receive certification, and those interested are encouraged to apply now by completing the LMM Discipleship Survey, linked in the newsletter.

Men’s Weekend Experiences in 2026

The Ambassador-Gram also highlights “Foundations,” LMM’s acclaimed Men’s Weekend Experience, with retreats scheduled across the country in 2026, including locations in Illinois, Louisiana, South Carolina, Minnesota, Washington, and Iowa. These weekends offer space for worship, conversation, and renewal—rooted in Scripture and shared Christian life.

Lenten Practices and Ongoing Studies

Starting February 18, LMM will offer weekday Lenten prayers and reflections, available by sign-up. Participants may also contribute prayers, poems, images, or music during the season.

Additional ongoing opportunities include:

  • “Lifelines” Bible studies with guided questions (available through Project Twelve)

  • Weekly Bible Study on Thursdays at 7:00 PM Central

  • Weekly Book Study on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM Central
