Mountain View Lutheran to Open 20-Year Time Capsule on Dec. 7

As Mountain View Lutheran Church celebrates more than 50 years of ministry, the congregation is marking this milestone with a special Time Capsule Opening on Sunday, December 7 at 10:00 am in the Worship Center Lobby. The capsule—sealed roughly 20 years ago and installed behind a narthex plaque—will be opened by Council President Chuck Mackey.

This event coincides with the anniversary of Mountain View’s very first worship service, held on the first Sunday of December over five decades ago. In addition to unveiling the contents, attendees are invited to bring meaningful items for consideration as MVLC prepares a new time capsule for the next generation.

Cake and refreshments will be provided as the congregation reflects on its history and continues giving thanks for God’s faithfulness in this community. All are welcome to participate in this intergenerational moment of remembrance and hope.
