National Photo Contest Celebrates 250 Years of Religious Diversity
Share Sacred Stories Through the Lens
Amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit images to Partners for Sacred Places’ 2026 national photo contest, “250 Years of Religious Diversity.” Submissions are now open.
The contest celebrates the many ways churches, synagogues, meetinghouses, temples and mosques have shaped their communities and the history of the United States. It offers an opportunity to lift up the religious, cultural, architectural and artistic traditions embodied in sacred spaces.
Photos may be submitted in four categories: Spiritual Moments, Community, The Arts, and Architecture & Open Space. A grand prize of $500 will be awarded, along with $200 Jury’s Choice and People’s Choice prizes in each category.
Eligible photographs must be taken in the United States within the past five years and must relate to or feature a purpose-built religious building that is more than 50 years old. Photos must fit the contest theme and be created by a human; AI-created or AI-edited images are not eligible. Photographers may submit up to 10 images across all categories. Releases are required when recognizable minors appear in a photograph.
Our congregations and sacred spaces carry stories of worship, service, welcome and witness. This contest is an invitation to notice and share how places of faith continue to serve their neighbors and strengthen community.
