Partners in Compassion: How Holy Spirit and LSSN are Changing Lives in Las Vegas
Partnering Together for the Sake of our Neighbor: Continuing a Legacy of Ministry Partnership
by Pastor Jeremy Nausin
After many days, months, and even years of prayer, planning and asking questions, the newest food pantry in Northwest Las Vegas opens, answering the growing need surrounding food insecurity in an under-resourced part of the city.
This new food pantry is the third program hosted by Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in partnership with Lutheran Social Services of Nevada, in addition to the long-running Senior Meals Program and the monthly Mobile Market Grocery Assistance Program. Holy Spirit Lutheran Church and LSSN are dedicated to these partnerships, answering the common call to making sure our neighbors are fed and loved.
Each of these outreach ministry programs stand on the premise that the church starts in relationship. Through building these relationships, we have the honor of inviting each person who comes through to worship with us and join us as a community of faith. Above all, these partnering ministries will continue to help us proclaim Christ Jesus and live into the commandment of loving our neighbor through our hands and hearts — even before we have a chance to say a word.
We are grateful to LSSN and Three Square Food Bank for their tireless work and commitment to sustainable help for the needs of our neighbors. We are humbled and honored to work alongside of you in our community, our neighborhood, and in our city.
