Pastor Amalia Vagts Named Kino Conference Dean

We’re glad to announce that Rev. Amalia Vagts of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Tucson will serve as the new Dean of the Kino Conference, effective immediately.

As Conference Dean, Pastor Vagts will help strengthen connections among congregations, rostered ministers, and the Office of the Bishop. Her responsibilities include welcoming new rostered ministers, participating in synod leadership meetings, assisting with the annual Fall Gathering, and representing the bishop at conference events when requested.

Bishop Hutterer expressed gratitude for Pastor Vagts’ willingness to serve and invited the Kino Conference to join in welcoming her to this leadership role.

The Grand Canyon Synod celebrates Pastor Vagts’ commitment to serving the wider church and offers prayers of thanksgiving and support as she begins this ministry.
