Pray and Support: Responding to Texas Flood Devastation
Devastating flash floods have swept through South Central Texas, claiming lives, destroying homes, and displacing entire communities. As the search for survivors continues, our hearts ache alongside those impacted by this tragedy.
Bishop Sue Briner of the Southwestern Texas Synod calls on us all to “pray, pray, pray for those who are still lost as well as the families of those who are lost, who have died, or who have experienced loss of home or property.” We join our siblings in Christ across the ELCA in lifting up these communities in prayer and compassion.
In times like these, we are reminded that as followers of Christ, we are called not only to pray but also to act. Lutheran Disaster Response is already mobilizing to support survivors and begin the long journey of recovery. This ministry accompanies impacted communities for the long haul, ensuring that help remains long after headlines fade.
