Ready for November 3? Check These Final October Dates

Your Late-October Voting Guide: Deadlines and Ballot Returns

Friday, October 23, brings two important deadlines: Arizona’s last day to request a ballot by mail and Utah’s voter registration deadline. Early voting is underway in Arizona and Nevada, and Navajo Nation in-person absentee voting continues through October 30. With Election Day on November 3, 2026, now is the time to complete your voting plan.

Arizona: Request by October 23; mail back by October 27

Registered voters who need a ballot by mail must request one by October 23. Arizona’s registration deadline has passed, but early voting is underway.

The Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission recommends mailing your completed ballot by October 27. After that date, use an official ballot drop box or designated drop-off location. Your ballot must be received by 7 p.m. November 3; a postmark alone does not count.

Follow your ballot’s instructions, sign the return envelope, and check its status after returning it. Review Arizona’s voting dates and options and check your ballot status.

Nevada: Early voting continues through October 30

Nevada’s early-voting period runs October 17–30. Check your county’s locations and hours before heading out.

In Clark County, online registration and updates with mail-ballot eligibility continue through October 20. Anyone registering or updating their registration on or after October 21 must vote in person for this election. Same-day registration is available during early voting and on Election Day; new same-day registrants vote a provisional ballot.

If voting by mail, your ballot must be postmarked by November 3 and received by 5 p.m. November 7. Return it early to allow time for delivery. Review Clark County’s official registration and voting deadlines.

Navajo Nation: In-person absentee voting through October 30

For readers seeing this on publication day, October 19 at 5 p.m. is the deadline to submit a completed application requesting an absentee ballot by mail. That deadline will have passed when the October 23 newsletter arrives.

Registered voters can still vote absentee in person at Navajo Nation election offices through October 30 at 5 p.m. The Navajo Nation election has its own requirements, separate from state and federal elections; tribal voter registration closed September 24.

If you already have an absentee ballot, follow its return instructions. For assistance, call the Navajo Election Administration at 1-800-775-VOTE (8683). View the official Navajo Nation election notice.

Utah: Register by October 23 at 5 p.m.

Utah voters should register by October 23 at 5 p.m. to avoid needing to vote a provisional ballot. If you read this after that deadline, in-person registration remains available on Election Day.

Active registered voters receive a ballot by mail. Completed ballots must be received by 8 p.m. November 3. Allow time for delivery, or use an official drop box. Contact your county clerk for local early-voting dates, locations, and hours. Review Utah’s election calendar and track your ballot.

Before October ends, confirm where and how you will vote, return your ballot promptly, and check that it has been received. Share these official resources with your congregation to help neighbors prepare for November 3.
