Spirit in the Desert: November Highlights, Retreats & ThanksLiving Fest
Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, Arizona continues its mission to be a place where people experience the love of God, joyful hospitality, and renewal in their callings. Their most recent November newsletter is full of good news—fall retreats, new gatherings, and a special dedication ceremony on November 15. Read the full newsletter.
October was a rich month for ministry, welcoming returning groups including Leadership Transformations, Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch, and Women to Women, as well as first-time guests now eager to return. October also marked the final Miles Christi Silent Retreat as that ministry concludes its work.
Looking ahead, November is expected to be Spirit’s busiest month ever. Star Foundation returns for its fall gathering, followed by a Luther Seminary group. Two Healing of Memories retreats will be offered—one for veterans and one for healthcare workers. Both retreats are free for qualified participants.
A joyful new celebration emerges this month: Spirit’s first ThanksLiving, Nov. 28–30, featuring Trop-Rock artists Mark Mulligan, Kelly McGuire, and Rudy B; worship; a poolside concert; and a festive luau with a whole roasted pig. Learn more and register at www.SITDmusic.com.
The community is also invited to the dedication of a new meditation garden honoring faith mentor Jim Hanson, to be held Friday, November 15 at 3:00 PM, with the formal dedication at 5:00 PM. Guests may enjoy beverages and Chef Karl’s appetizers. Please RSVP if attending in person.
