Sun City Lutheran Author Publishes New Novel of Martin Luther

Sun City author and American Lutheran Church member Jeanne Blanchet, Ph.D., has published The Monk Who Wrestled with God: A Novel of Martin Luther, a 381-page work of historical fiction available in paperback and e-book formats. The novel is intended for preteen and high school readers, adults, history enthusiasts, and readers of varied religious backgrounds.

Blanchet’s book follows Martin Luther through the struggles, questions, and turning points that shaped his life and the Reformation. It offers an imaginative entry point into the story of a monk and priest whose wrestling with God, conscience, Scripture, and church authority helped renew the church’s proclamation of grace.

For Lutherans, Luther’s story remains more than history. His witness directs us again to the promise that we are justified by God’s grace through faith—not by our own striving—and called to trust God’s mercy in Christ.
