Taking Flight with DISC: A Leadership Masterclass for ELCA Leaders

Leaders across the church are invited to participate in Taking Flight with DISC, a four-hour online training offered through ELCA Coaching in collaboration with Master Certified Coach Nathan Swenson-Reinhold, MCC.

This dynamic training will be held on Friday, March 13 at the following times:

  • 5am–9am Hawaii

  • 6am–10am Alaska

  • 7am–11am Pacific

  • 8am–12pm Mountain

  • 9am–1pm Central

  • 10am–2pm Eastern

  • 11am–3pm Atlantic

(Times listed above correspond to Central Time; please double-check your time zone, especially during Daylight Saving Time.)

Registration closes at the end of the day on Friday, February 27. A minimum of 10 participants is required, and space is limited to 30 participants.

A Masterclass in People

Rooted in four key concepts—self-awareness, social awareness, style flexibility, and culture—Taking Flight with DISC equips leaders to better understand themselves and those they serve.

As Lutheran leaders, we know that ministry is deeply relational. Whether preaching, teaching, leading councils, walking with congregations in transition, or navigating conflict, we are called to communicate clearly and listen deeply. DISC provides practical tools to do just that.

Participants will learn how to work with the four DISC personality styles—represented by intuitive bird imagery—when:

  • Communicating and listening

  • Providing feedback

  • Taking risks

  • Coping with stress

  • Leading through change

  • Managing time

  • Working in teams

This brain-friendly approach helps leaders access insights in real time—right when they are needed most.
