Thursday Afternoon Connections Offer Space to Meet, Ask, and Connect with Synod Staff at Assembly
As Synod Assembly begins on Thursday, June 11, participants are invited to take part in Thursday Afternoon Connections from 2:00–5:00 PM, a relaxed and flexible time designed for conversation, relationship-building, and informal connection alongside registration.
Throughout the afternoon, members of the synod staff will host Synod Office Hours, offering Assembly participants an opportunity to stop in, ask questions, share ideas, or simply connect before the Assembly formally begins.
Whether you want to discuss candidacy, faith formation, advocacy, generosity, communications, congregational vitality, or broader questions about ministry in the Grand Canyon Synod, you are welcome to join the conversation.
Available during Office Hours:
Rev. Jacqueline Pagel — Bishop’s Associate for Candidacy and Faith Formation
Rev. Dan Potaznick — Director of Generosity and Strategic Development
Brian Flatgard — Director of Communications
Solveig Muus — Director, Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Arizona
Rev. David Pavesic — Director for Evangelical Mission (DEM)
Rev. Pavesic will also be available for conversation around congregational vitality and the opportunities and challenges facing congregations across our synod and wider church.
As we gather under the Assembly theme “Rooted in God’s Story,” Thursday afternoon offers a simple invitation to begin with relationship, curiosity, and conversation—recognizing that some of the most meaningful moments of Assembly often begin in informal conversations and shared reflection.
