Voting Reminders and Resources From LAMA

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Arizona’s October 27 newsletter brings together timely voting guidance, upcoming interfaith events and resources for congregations preparing for Advent.

Arizona voters: The recommended October 27 mail-back date has passed. If you still have your early ballot, return it to an official ballot drop-off site or voting location in your county. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. You can also vote in person. Check official Arizona voting guidance.

LAMA, an advocacy ministry of the Grand Canyon Synod, connects our Lutheran call to love our neighbors with participation in public life. This edition includes a 2026 Arizona Voter Guide, available in English and Spanish, and resources to help congregations prepare for election-related uncertainty, misinformation, intimidation or disruption.

Upcoming opportunities to gather and participate include:

  • The Vote Is Sacred community celebrations: October 29 at Prince Chapel AME Church in Tucson and November 3 at Flagstaff Federated Church, both from 5:30–7:30 p.m. These free, nonpartisan Arizona Faith Network events feature food, voter information and interfaith prayers for peaceful elections.

  • Arizona Faith Network Social Justice Commission: November 5, 8:30–9:30 a.m., welcoming participants interested in justice and advocacy.

  • Faithful Voter AZ Committee: November 5, 2–3 p.m., meeting online to support voting rights and share advocacy updates.

Looking toward Advent and Christmas, the newsletter highlights ELCA World Hunger’s “Filled With Good Things”resources and ELCA Good Gifts. It also shares resources connecting faith with financial decisions, an action alert concerning proposed U.S. Census changes, and an invitation to comment on the ELCA’s reconsideration of its homelessness social message by November 30, 2026.

Explore these opportunities for prayer, learning, generosity and advocacy—and share useful resources with your congregation.
