Warm Wishes, SHE CARES, and More: How LSSN Serves Southern Nevada
August was a record-breaking month at Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN). Our team served more neighbors than ever, distributing 199,654 pounds of food to 1,875 households—a total of 3,574 individuals. Yet, even with this incredible reach, the demand continues to exceed our supply. Every morning, long lines remind us of how vital this ministry is. Sadly, we still run out of food daily and sometimes must close early, turning away families in need.
We invite you to stand with us. Grocery gift cards, financial contributions, and volunteers are deeply appreciated. Protein is our greatest need and the first to run out. If you feel moved to help, please connect with us at 4323 Boulder Hwy, Las Vegas, NV 89121 or by email at Tim@LSSNV.org.
Upcoming Programs
Warm Wishes Project – October 22, Noon–3 pm
As cooler months approach, LSSN is launching our Warm Wishes program to keep neighbors safe and warm. We’ll be distributing blankets, jackets, warm clothing, hats, and more to adults and children. Donations of gently used or new items are welcome and can be dropped off at our office.
SHE CARES Initiative Expands
SHE CARES continues to provide women with dignity through hygiene kits. In August, we launched SHE CARES for Men, offering similar support for men in our community. The response has been heartfelt, and we are grateful for the generosity that makes this possible.
Celebrating Service
Finally, we give thanks for the dedication of Enier Bequer Palmer, our faithful truck driver. Every day, Enier is on the road, picking up food and supplies so that our neighbors can be fed and cared for. His steadfast service embodies what it means to live out our call to love and serve.
As Lutherans, we believe that Christ meets us in the hungry, the cold, and the vulnerable. Thank you for joining us in this work of mercy and justice. Together, we are changing lives in Southern Nevada.
