Wayfinding in the Commons: Hope Is a Group Project

ELCA Coaching invites leaders, seekers and anyone longing for connection to Wayfinding in the Commons on Wednesday, September 2, at 11 a.m. Pacific / noon Mountain. This free online gathering offers 45 minutes of community, learning, reflection and coach-facilitated conversation designed to help participants find clarity and identify an actionable next step.

Wayfinding in the Commons meets online on the first Wednesday of each month, grounded in ELCA Coaching’s vision that “Nobody Journeys Alone.” The gathering is especially intended for people who feel stuck, isolated or uncertain about what comes next—as well as those who are curious about where the Spirit may be leading.

“Hope is a group project,” author Jemar Tisby writes. That conviction is at the heart of these gatherings. In Christian community, discernment does not have to be solitary work. We listen together, share what we have learned and help one another notice how God may already be at work in our lives, ministries and communities.

What to expect

Each 45-minute gathering includes:

  • Grounding in community through Scripture, prayer, readings or music

  • Bite-sized learning about leadership

  • Coach-facilitated small-group “wayfinding” around real-life and ministry challenges

  • Time for reflection and an actionable next step

Participants don’t need to arrive with answers—or even consider themselves “group people.” ELCA Coaching invites participants simply to bring curiosity and openness: What are you noticing? Where is the Spirit moving? How might you be invited to participate in the work God is already doing?
