Women of the ELCA Host Annual Blue Christmas Service on the Winter Solstice

As the Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year, the Women of the ELCA invite you to gather for the annual Blue Christmas Service—a quiet, contemplative worship space for those carrying grief, loss, or heaviness during the holiday season.

This virtual service will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM (Arizona and Utah) / 5:00 PM (Nevada). The evening will include gentle readings, reflective music, and time for prayer and stillness. All are welcome to bring their hearts just as they are.

Blue Christmas recognizes that for many, the holidays can stir feelings of sorrow or loneliness. Yet even on the longest night, we remember the promise of Christ’s light—a light that no darkness can overcome. Whether you come seeking peace, healing, or quiet reflection, this service offers a sacred space of comfort and community.
