A Legacy of Learning: The Grace and Grand Canyon Scholarship Fund Enters Its Fourth Year

In August 2024, Grace Lutheran Church in Phoenix distributed its first scholarships through the newly established Grace and Grand Canyon Synod Scholarship Fund. This fund, launched in 2023 as a legacy gift to future generations and is now in its fourth year of scholarship awards. To date the scholarship fund has awarded $16,000 dollars to support educational endeavors of our members in the Grand Canyon Synod.

Who Qualifies? 

To apply, individuals must: 

  • Be a member of an ELCA congregation in the Grand Canyon Synod for two or more years, or be a regular attendee at an ELCA University congregation for two or more years. 

  • Have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, master’s program, post-graduate program, or certification course, 

  • Hold a GPA of 2.85 or higher.
