Advent with TENx10: The Christ Child Comes Where Vetting Is Slow And Waiting Is Long

This Advent, TENx10 invites us into a powerful weekly journey that asks a provocative question: What Child is This?

Week 2: The Christ Child Comes Where Vetting Is Slow And Waiting Is Long.

What Child is This?
He is the one waiting in shelters while files move from desk to desk.

This week, we turn our attention to immigrant children who spend long stretches in shelters or temporary placements while their families navigate vetting and reunification processes. Scripture’s stories of waiting remind us that God draws near to those moving through systems, delays, and uncertainty. As we reflect, we’re invited to consider the real experiences of caseworkers, churches, and communities who help clear obstacles and offer comfort, dignity, and hope to young people longing for the feeling of family.

Week 2 Prayer
Jesus, you are Emmanuel, God with us. Be close to every child waiting through delays they cannot control. Give compassion to those who guide them and courage to those who accompany them. Help us reflect your love in small, faithful actions that move families closer together again.
