AFN Invites Faith Communities to Protect Every Vote
Arizona Faith Network’s latest newsletter offers Grand Canyon Synod members meaningful ways to support safe, peaceful, and informed civic participation while building relationships across faith traditions.
A central invitation is to serve as a Poll Chaplain or Peacekeeper during the November general election. Ordained leaders may serve as Poll Chaplains, and lay leaders as Peacekeepers. These nonpartisan volunteers provide a calm, caring presence at polling locations and are trained in de-escalation, voter protection, election laws, and connecting voters with helpful resources. No previous experience is required, but one 2026 training is required before serving: September 28 or October 15, 4:00–5:30 p.m. Arizona time via Zoom.

Arizona Corporation Commission Candidate Forum: October 5, 6:30–8:00 p.m. MST via Zoom. This nonpartisan forum will explore energy affordability, grid stability, data centers, and clean-energy accountability.
Poll Chaplain/Peacekeeper Virtual Mobilization and Unity Rally: October 7, 5:00–5:45 p.m. MST via Zoom.
What’s On Your Ballot?: October 14, 5:30–6:30 p.m. MST via Zoom, offering nonpartisan education about Arizona’s statewide propositions and the November 3 ballot.
Vote Is Sacred Bus Tour and Community Celebrations: Phoenix on October 27, Tucson on October 29, and Flagstaff on November 3, each at 5:30 p.m.
An interfaith conversation with Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz on Psalms Between Us: December 16, 6:30–8:00 p.m. MST via Zoom.
