This week’s Arizona Faith Network (AFN) newsletter offers a wide range of opportunities for interfaith spiritual practice, community connection, and public witness. Arizona Faith Network’s weekly Monday Meditation continues each week at noon via Zoom—an open space for grounding, reflection, and prayer across traditions.

Several December in-person events invite engagement throughout the state. The next Reconciliation Ecology Workshop, focusing on native trees and land stewardship, meets in Tucson on Saturday, December 13 from 3:30–5:30 p.m.Southern Arizona clergy and community members are also invited to a Social and Clergy Care Gathering on Wednesday, December 17 from 6–8 p.m., an evening of outdoor fellowship, warmth, and rest.

Looking ahead, AFN will host Embracing Peace: An Interfaith Midwinter Gathering on Tuesday, January 7 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in Phoenix—an evening of song, readings, and reflection as we enter the new year. AFN’s Faith 101 series continues with Faith and Science from an Islamic Perspective (Part 3), held Saturday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.

The newsletter also includes updates from recent events, including a photo from the Prayer Walk on the Arizona Trail, along with details about Giving Machines across Arizona—seasonal opportunities to support local and global nonprofits, including Lutheran Social Services.

AFN is amplifying two important Creation Care sign-on opportunities for clergy and faith leaders:

Endangered Species Act Faith Leader Petition (deadline December 15)

Clean Water Act Faith Leader Comment (deadline January 5)

Both actions call faith communities to raise their moral voice against weakened environmental protections, especially affecting vulnerable ecosystems and communities.

Additional partner updates include job opportunities with the Bridging Divides Initiative and All Voting is Local, and details for festive community events such as Christmas Carols with a Tahitian Twist on December 15.
