Faith in the Public Square: Events and Trainings from AFN
From Earth Day gatherings to advocacy trainings and community care events, Arizona Faith Network (AFN) is offering multiple ways to engage faith in action across our state.
This week’s AFN newsletter highlights opportunities for learning, reflection, and public witness—inviting individuals and congregations to step into community-centered work that reflects shared values of justice, healing, and dignity.

Looking ahead, AFN is also offering media training for prophetic public witness (May 5 & 12) and a security-focused webinar with the Safe Communities Coalition (May 27).
In addition, AFN is currently hiring and recruiting for its 2026 Heat Relief Program, with positions across Maricopa County supporting vulnerable neighbors during Arizona’s extreme summer heat.
These opportunities reflect a shared commitment across traditions to care for neighbor, engage honestly with history, and build communities rooted in compassion and justice. For Lutherans, this work resonates deeply with our call to love and serve our neighbor in tangible ways.
