Arizona Nonprofit Security Grant Program Now Accepting Applications
The FY2027 State of Arizona Nonprofit Security Grant Program is now accepting applications, with materials due Friday, June 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eligible nonprofit organizations, including congregations and faith-based ministries, are encouraged to review the requirements and consider attending one of two state information webinars.
Application information and forms are available at azdohs.gov/az-nsgp. Completed application materials must be submitted as email attachments to hs@azdohs.gov. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
This is a State of Arizona grant program and is not the USDHS/FEMA federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program. No updates have been received yet regarding the federal 2026 NSGP.
The FY2027 State of Arizona NSGP provides funding to eligible nonprofits at greatest risk of terrorist attack, hate crimes, or attacks because of their ideology, beliefs, or mission. Funding may be used for target hardening and other security enhancements and activities.
To be eligible, applicants must meet the nonprofit eligibility requirements of the USDHS/FEMA Nonprofit Security Grant Program for the current grant year and meet one of these criteria:
Applied for the federal nonprofit security grant and did not receive funding for the last three grant cycles: 2025, 2024, and 2023; or
Were unable to apply for the federal grant because they could not fund the request up front and wait for reimbursement.
Nonprofit organizations may apply for up to $100,000. Organizations with one site may request up to $100,000 for that site. Organizations with multiple sites may apply for up to three sites, but the total request may not exceed $100,000. A unique vulnerability assessment is required for each site included in the application.
The Arizona Department of Homeland Security will offer two information webinars for eligible organizations planning to apply:

As Lutherans, we seek to be communities of welcome, worship, service, and public witness. Thoughtful security planning can support that ministry by helping congregations care for their neighbors, protect vulnerable communities, and prepare faithfully without fear.
