Calling Pianists and Keyboardists: Serve in Worship at Beautiful Savior, Tucson

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church is seeking a talented, dependable Music Accompanist to support the congregation’s worship life through piano or keyboard accompaniment. This is a meaningful opportunity for a musician who is passionate about Lutheran worship and enjoys collaborating with pastors, music directors, and choirs.

The accompanist plays for Sunday morning worship services, as well as special services throughout the church year, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Reformation Sunday. In addition to worship leadership, the accompanist supports Chancel Choir rehearsals and services, and assists with blended (Fusion) worship music as determined by the Music Director.

This position is 12–15 hours per week, including practice, planning, rehearsals, and services. The accompanist works closely with the Music Director and Pastor, participates in worship team meetings as needed, and helps ensure continuity of music ministry by coordinating substitute coverage when time off is requested.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accompanying hymns, liturgy, preludes, postludes, choir anthems, and special music

  • Supporting choir rehearsals, soloists, and instrumentalists

  • Playing in a variety of musical styles, with some improvisation and lead-sheet reading

  • Contributing to the planning and flow of worship in a Lutheran context

Qualifications include:

  • Strong piano or keyboard proficiency

  • Self-motivation and reliable preparation for worship and rehearsals

  • Good communication skills

  • Familiarity with Lutheran liturgy and worship practices (or willingness to learn)

  • Completion of a background check and fingerprint card
